GENERAL FEATURES
Mineral insulated thermocouples can be used in a wide variety of conditions and environments at different temperatures.
Places of use;
Tanks, pipelines, various machines and equipment, laboratories and test centers,
Liquid and gaseous media such as air, gases, water, oil,
Nuclear power plants, reactors, pressure vessels, chemical industries.
This catalog includes standard type mineral insulated thermocouples that can be used up to 1200°C.
Since it is bendable and flexible and can be given in low diameters, it has a wide range of usage opportunities in portable applications. They can be routed like cables in environments where they can operate within temperature limits. They are preferably used to monitor the temperature under the car in long tunnel ovens or to create the temperature profile of an oven.
DESIGN AND SELECTION
Single or double element thermocouples are placed in a thin metal sheath and isolated by compressing high purity metal oxide powders in the sheath. In this way, the element wires are isolated from each other and also from the metal shielding. Because the metal sheath, metal oxide powders and element wires are very well compressed with special methods, the thermocouple can be bent and curled like a cable.
THERMOCOUPLE STANDARD
The mineral insulated thermocouples included in our production produce EMF values in accordance with DIN 43710 and IEC 60584 standards. For Fe-Const and NiCr-Ni mineral insulated thermocouples, the mV tables in Thermocouples General Information can be used.

M/I THERMOCOUPLE FEATURES
Mineral insulated thermocouples have certain diameters in standards. The minimum radii to which these diameters can be bent are limited. If this radius is exceeded, the thermocouple will be damaged and may break. Therefore, this feature should be taken into consideration when bending mineral insulated thermocouples. The limits are given in the table below. In mineral insulated thermocouples, the relationship between element wire diameter and temperature is not like in other thermocouples. Since the wires are well insulated from external environments with their metal oxides, they can reach higher temperatures at lower diameters.
